The story and photos of John and Elya.

Marianna & Cecil,

I have so many people I want to thank, but I will start by thanking you.  Your assistance in helping me with my trip to Chernovtsy was invaluable.  You both gave great insight and answered all of my questions, and left no doubt in my mind that my week in Chernovtsy would be wonderful.  Sveta, your charm and knowledge of the ladies was what helped make the trip something I will remember for the rest of my life, and I thank you very much also.  Vadim, I want to thank you for your great sense of humor.  And thanks also for being such a skilled driver, in a country where they don’t quite drive the same as I do.  (You will have to go there to see what I mean.)  Vitally, you also have a great sense of humor, and your talent in translating is the best. Thanks.  And then there is Ella!  My dear wonderful Ella, thank you for bringing your sweet smile and loving kindness into my world.  Our future lives together will be one of great happiness and harmony, and I am so glad that we found each other!

Upon my arrival in Ukraine, Vadim and Vitally met me at the airport.  They greeted me as soon as I exited the door of the airport, and escorted me to the car.  During the drive to Chernovtsy, Vadim and Vitally talked to me about Ukraine, the country’s history, and what I could expect during the coming week.  I felt very at ease, and they even allowed me to catch a few winks along the way.  When they dropped me off at my hotel, they must have sensed my nervousness regarding the next day.  They told me that Sveta had arranged the meetings with the ladies I had been writing to, and they assured me that all would go very smoothly.  They were so right!

I was picked up the next morning and taken to the office.  Sveta told me whom I would be meeting that day, and I looked forward to putting a real face and voice on the very nice letters I had received.  Of course I had a favorite, though!  I must say that all the ladies I met that day were very nice, beautiful, and would make a wonderful partner for any man.  But, after a few minutes with Ella, I felt this incredible connection with her, and she told me that she felt the same way.  We began our week together, and every day was more special than the last.  We had wonderful dinners; we toured one of the most charming cities in the world, and also watched several movies together.  She found it interesting to see my favorite movies, and I enjoyed watching them with her.  We also enjoyed a wonderful home cooked Ukrainian dinner at her family’s house.  As the end of the week approached, I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her, and to share everything with her.

Vitally suggested that we visit a castle which turned 1000 years old last year.  After our tour of the castle, I found a beautiful view overlooking the castle.  I turned to her and asked her if she would marry me, and she happily said yes.  We have found in each other what we were both looking for, and I am very excited about what the future holds for us.  I have a genuine fondness for Ukraine, and the culture, food, and lifestyle is very interesting.  I look forward to visiting again with my new bride in the near future.

Gentlemen, do yourself the favor of a lifetime.  If you are even half considering taking a trip like this, start now by writing your introduction letter, pick out 9 or so ladies that you are interested in, and send it to Marianna.  Once you start getting those letters back, you will be hooked in how real and pleasant these ladies are.  They are only looking for one thing, happiness.  Don’t wait any longer.

So, thank you to everyone for a wonderful week, but more importantly, for introducing me to the woman of my dreams!  God Bless!
